Isabel Bernal
Isabel Bernal studied design and screen printing at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee and studied painting at the University of Puerto Rico with Osiris Delgado and Carlos Marichal. In 1956 she began working as a graphic artist in the Graphic Arts Section of the Division of Community Education (DivCoEd), where she remained until her retirement in 1987. She was one of the very few woman to work at DivEdCo. There she collaborated with Lorenzo Homar, Rafael Tufiño, Antonio Maldonado, Eduardo Vera Cortés, José Meléndez Contreras, Epifanio Irizarry, Carlos Osorio, Carlos Raquel Rivera, Manuel Hernández Acevedo, among others. In the workshop she designed numerous posters to announce cultural events, the school theater program, chess, Christmas greetings, movies and government programs.
